apprentices they go all around the city depending upon the need. it is a fabulous program and i don't want us to forget about the program of the supervisors and our assigned gardeners who work with them to help deliver the results. it is a program that we want to continue to grow and the best thing about the apprenticeship program which has contributed to positive scores over all. we are creating a workforce pipeline where we know when an apprentice graduates and we are working with the department of resources to insure that a person that complaints the program will always have a job as a 34-17 upon that completion. where the apprentices are getting the academic training and the on the ground training. it makes a difference for someone who has proven their success and commitment and have a test and a list where you are hiring someone that you don't know their work history as well. so, in each of the last three budget years, we have added apprentices and so we will now have a total of an increase of two more apprentices in this year's budget. >> so

a number of years when i started working for the city as the city attorney is because we filed a lawsuit on the gun industry because of some of the practices. i want to thank you on the point that on the issue of the data base, anyone familiar with the police department, the police department will do as good a job to maintain the information and accurate as possible. i think the point was made that when you focus on non-prohibited person's being able to not purchase ammunition . the reality is that we have a system that is broken nationwide and that in fact some of the horrible incidents that have occurred involve people that legally have the right to purchase and so that's why i think it's really important for us as san francisco to take this very responsible and balanced approach. the last thing i would say if you are using these kinds of weapons for sporting purposes and you are buying 500 rounds of ammunition, then, you should not be afraid of the chief of police knowing that in fact you are purchasing. i still don't understand why someone would need to buy more than five 500 rounds,
